Michael Carlson, D.O.

Specializing in Interventional Non-Surgical Orthopedic Medicine (Prolotherapy, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).

Dr. Carlson was raised in Knoxville and began his practice in 1996 with Summit Medical Group at Deane Hill & Northshore where he practiced primary care for 20 years and now devotes his practice entirely to non-surgical orthopedic medicine at TRSM. 

He is Board Certified in Family Medicine as well as Certified in Interventional Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine (IROM) through the American Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (AAOM)

He received his undergraduate training from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at East Tennessee State University, James H. Quillen College of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident.  Dr. Carlson is the President of the AAOM and on the Board of Directors.  He is an instructor to physicians on a national as well as an international basis through the AAOM for both palpatory and ultrasound guided orthopedic injections.

He also attends numerous advanced ultrasound injection courses with MSKUS (Dr. Tom Clark) to insure being up to date on the latest advanced procedures.
